History

Port activities in Banjarmasin began in nineteenth century when Martapura Port (the first port in Banjarmasin) had been operated for the KPM ships. In 1894, KPM ships sailed from Banjarmasin to Surabaya. They also sailed from Banjarmasin to Singapore once a month.

According to staatblad No. 616/1938 Martapura was operated commercially. Trisakti – located in Barito river – was build in 1961 as a development of Martapura. It  took 4 years in construction. At 10 September 1965, Trisakti has been officially operated by the III Prime Minister of Indonesia, Mr. Dr. J. Laemena.
