Port of Benoa



LOCATIONS AND PHYSICAL FEATURES

Benoa is the biggest port in Bali Province. The position is in : 08°45’00"S and 115°13’00"E. Benoa Port offers safe anchorages and facilities for cargo handling and passenger vessels and will soon have a 200 yacht capacity marina, and restaurant.


The distance from the port area to the capital city Denpasar is 10 KM and, is also within easy reach of famous tourism sites. Since October 1995, Benoa Port has had berthing of 646 meters in lenght and 9 meters in depth, capable of handling vessels up to 20,000 GRT and 200 meter length. Passenger vessels can now enter the port instead of anchoring at Padang Bai as previously required.

The port provides a new Baliness architecture passenger receptions terminal. Capable of handling up to 800 passengers and car parking for 500 vehicles. The port of Benoa can now proudly claim to be the main entrance for tourism into Bali and east Indonesia and close to the International Air Port of Ngurah Rai, excellent ferry and cruising service operate out of the port to the eastern island such as Lembongan Island, Lombok, Komodo, Flores and so on.


Benoa harbour is surrounded by Badung Hill at the south, west by Ngurah Rai International Air Port, and the beautiful island Serangan at the east. The Serangan island is a very natural advantageous to protecting the harbour against the high waves
